History

Among the most widely exported Aurixian weapons across Landorya, Firebrand Swords have appeared in the arsenals of mortal noble houses, mercenary companies, and the ceremonial guard of the Drakonian Senate. Several blades recovered from battlefields along the Drakorian Rebel Clan skirmish lines suggest that some have found their way into rebel hands, a fact that deeply concerns the Order of the Scaled Guardians. The oldest surviving example, known as Embervein, is mounted in the Crystal Archive as a record of early-era Fire-forging technique.

Powers & Abilities

  • Ignites along its entire length on the wielder's command, adding dragonfire damage to every strike
  • Runic circuits allow the blade to respond to draconic will, adjusting flame intensity from a low burning ward to a full incendiary burst
  • Retains heat after combat, functioning as a torch or fire-starting tool for hours afterward

Curse or Drawback

A wielder without draconic blood who activates the full incendiary burst risks the rune-circuits reading their body heat as fuel; prolonged use can cause the sword to draw warmth from the wielder's own flesh, leaving their sword-arm frostbitten even as the blade burns.
