It passed through the Dark Times without destruction, the only supreme artifact to do so unbroken, and scholars of the Ministry of Lore & Memory hold that its regulating influence may have been the sole check that prevented the mantle itself from fracturing during that age of catastrophic imbalance. It is currently held by High Dragon-Lord Aurexion the Eternal, who has borne it for over five thousand years.
