Blade of Pyrathon
Also known as: Sword of the Eternal Ember, Ironheart's Legacy, The Everflame Blade
A longsword of immeasurable age whose blade is forged from Pyrosteel laced with a sliver of the Eternal Ember, a fragment of creation's first flame gifted by the Fire Primordial Pyrathon to the earliest Pyrakians. The blade glows with a deep, constant amber that brightens to white-gold when swung, leaving trailing arcs of light that hang for a moment in the air like afterimages of the sun. Forge-Mistress Kaela Ironheart is credited with its creation, having worked for forty years to find a method of fusing the Eternal Ember shard into Pyrosteel without the metal being consumed by the flame it contained.

History
The Blade of Pyrathon was presented to the Flame-Council as a weapon of last resort, to be borne only in defense of Ignis Aeterna against existential threat. It saw battlefield use during the Cinder Wars under General Volcarn the Relentless, whose wielding of it is credited with breaking the coalition assault on the capital. After the war the blade was returned to the Eternal Ember chamber of Ignis Aeterna, where it remained until the civilization's decline. Its whereabouts following the collapse are unknown; Drakonian Forge-Masters consider the search for it a sacred duty, and each generation of the Obsidian Order names a Champion of the Ember tasked with pursuing any credible lead regarding its location.
