Ring of Invisibility
Also known as: Invisibility Ring
A slender band of smoke-darkened silver etched with interlocking runic arrays so fine they seem to shift like oil on water beneath the light, the hallmark craft of the Eldorian artificers who first bent Aetheric light into solid form. When the wearer speaks the activation syllable, the ring drinks the ambient luminance around them whole, rendering flesh, cloth and shadow alike utterly absent to the eye for as long as the runes hold their charge.

- Forged in the luminance-labs of THE ELDORIANS during the Age of Shrouded Thrones by the master artificer Seravyn Duskhollow, who sought a means to extract Eldorian diplomats from the ever-watchful courts of the Order of the Starlight without triggering their celestial detection wards. Seravyn threaded raw Aetheric current, bartered at great cost from an Order of the Starlight conduit-priest, through a silver band inscribed with a proprietary Eldorian runic lattice, compressing what lesser artificers required a full cloak's surface area to achieve into a circumference no wider than a finger-joint.
Overview
Ring of Invisibility is a legendary talisman in Landorya. Its known origin is Forged in the luminance-labs of THE ELDORIANS during the Age of Shrouded Thrones by the master artificer Seravyn Duskhollow, who sought a means to extract Eldorian diplomats from the ever-watchful courts of the Order of the Starlight without triggering their celestial detection wards. Seravyn threaded raw Aetheric current, bartered at great cost from an Order of the Starlight conduit-priest, through a silver band inscribed with a proprietary Eldorian runic lattice, compressing what lesser artificers required a full cloak's surface area to achieve into a circumference no wider than a finger-joint.. Its most cited abilities include Renders the wearer fully invisible to mundane sight for up to 30 continuous minutes, after which the runes must recharge over an equal span of rest., Suppresses the wearer's reflection in water and polished metal, defeating even the scrying-mirror techniques practiced by the Desert Scholars of the Sunken Archives., and Muffles the sound of the wearer's footsteps to a whisper indistinguishable from settling dust, complementing the visual concealment.. Accounts also warn of a drawback: The runes draw on the wearer's own life-warmth as a secondary fuel source: each full 30-minute activation leaves the wearer with a bone-deep chill that persist…
History
The Ring passed first through the fingers of Eldorian shadow-envoy Mira Thessolvane, who wore it during the notorious Silence of the Amber Courts, a three-decade campaign of covert negotiation that kept open war from erupting between THE ELDORIANS and the Desert Scholars over the oasis-trade routes of the Sunken Reaches. Upon Mira's death, the Ring vanished from the official Eldorian registry, surfacing decades later on the hand of a Halfling courier known only as "Pebble," who ran intelligence between the Fey Court of the Eternal Twilight and dissident factions among THE MYSTARANS during the Thornveil Accord disputes. The Order of the Starlight seized it during a raid on a Mystaran safe-house in the city of Vel Saorath, cataloguing it under seal in their Vault of Withheld Light. Rumour now circulates in the low markets of the Iron Mountains that the Vault was breached not six moons past, and the Ring of Invisibility, along with three other sequestered relics, is once again loose in the world.

Curse or Drawback
The runes draw on the wearer's own life-warmth as a secondary fuel source: each full 30-minute activation leaves the wearer with a bone-deep chill that persists for hours and, over prolonged habitual use, gradually leaches pigment from the skin and clarity from the eyes, longtime bearers are recognisable by their ash-pale complexion and milky, half-translucent irises, making them paradoxically conspicuous in the very societies where stealth is most valued.
