The fur around their muzzles and paws is notably shorter and coarser than the body coat, providing better heat management in those high-circulation areas. Their eyes are vivid amber with slit pupils that expand in low light to remarkable size. The most striking feature is visible only when a Pyrewolf draws breath before exhaling a heat-burst: the interior of the mouth glows a dull orange as their superheated glands activate, giving the animal an unsettling internal-fire appearance.

Domesticated Pyrewolves are intensely loyal to their bonded household but approach strangers with controlled, evaluating hostility rather than immediate aggression.
