Celestial Drakes belongs to magical beast in the Landorya bestiary. Its usual habitat is In their wild state, Celestial Drakes inhabit the high Aetheric current zones above the Celestial-Kordilleren peaks, riding the strongest resonance flows to feed and navigate. The semi-domesticated population kept by the Order occupies purpose-built open-topped Drake Houses at each of the six major settlements, which provide Aetheric feeding stations rather than enclosures, as the Drakes come and go voluntarily.. Celestial Drakes are small draconic beings with a wingspan of approximately two metres, their scales shifting between deep violet and iridescent white depending on how recently they have fed on Ætheric currents. Their wing membranes are translucent enough to show the Aetheric energy they have absorbed moving through internal channels like luminous blood, and their eyes are multifaceted in the manner of insects rather than the vertical-pupil structure of larger dragons, allowing them to perceive resonance frequencies across a wider spectrum than most creatures. When they exhale, they produce not fire but a brief shimmer of spatially displaced air.

Celestial Drakes are curious and independently minded, willing to cooperate with the Order's handlers but resistant to being treated as pure tools. They demonstrate clear preferences for individual handlers whose resonance frequencies match their own absorbed Aetheric signature, and Order naturalists have documented what appears to be genuine social behaviour between Drakes housed together, including what may be shared resonance-pattern communication. Attempts to confine them against their will result in spatial displacement events as the Drake exits through the nearest Aetheric pathway without regard for walls.

Celestial tradition holds that Drakes were a minor creation of Aether during the Age of Exploration, resonated into being as navigational companions for the Celestial itself as it mapped the spatial lattice of the newly-formed world. When Aether withdrew from direct mortal contact following the Celestial Schism, the Drakes remained and gradually oriented their instinctive service toward the Celestial Order as the closest mortal institution sharing their resonance frequency. The Order's Aether-domain Circle maintains a particular responsibility for Drake welfare and considers harm to a Drake a serious breach of the Resonance-Preservation Principle.
