The University of the Arcane was conceived during the Age of Enlightenment as a complement to the Grand Library of Solaria: where the Library preserved knowledge, the University would advance it through structured research and the training of practitioners. Eldorian scholars contributed both the institutional framework and the first faculty cohort for the Faculty of Sylvan Magic, which remains the University's best-regarded department by most external assessments.
