Ashford Harbor occupies a deep, sheltered bay carved by ancient glacial action into the limestone cliffs of the Azure Coast. The harbor mouth is narrow enough to be defended by twin fortress towers but opens into a broad, calm anchorage capable of holding three hundred vessels.
