The Citadel is built on a hardened lava plateau within the Scorching Spine, its concentric rings of obsidian walls separated by active lava-moat channels fed directly by the Lava-Sluice Network. Tiered forge-levels descend into the plateau's interior, replicating the caldera-city design of Ignis Aeterna on a fortress scale. Pyrosteel structural beams reinforce every archway and battlement.

The Citadel's elevated position on the lava plateau exposes it to the dry, ash-laden winds of the Scorching Spine, while the surrounding lava moats generate a constant low shimmer of radiant heat that discourages approach by the unprepared.
