His reformist allies find in him an unusual combination of intellectual ambition and physical capability; his rivals for the Archon succession regard the same combination as a threat. The secret he carries — a theoretical means to sever a Celestial from the mortal plane — was found in a text he was supposed to be preserving, not reading.
