Story
WENEBGAMUN THE ETERNAL
Jeder trug seine Last. Jeder seine Geheimnisse. Jeder seine ungeschriebene Geschichte.
Und WENEBGAMUN? WENEBGAMUN ging weiter.

Backstory
Wenebgamun was a senior Archivist during the final age of the First Archivists, the vanished civilization whose ruins now riddle the Whispering Sands. When the catastrophe that turned the land to desert came, he chose to bind his consciousness to the sand-memory of the Great Library's predecessor, trading a mortal life for continuity of the archive. He has since survived the rise of the Al-Qadir al-Hakim, witnessed the forging of the Balance Codex, and outlasted every generation of High Scribe-Councils. He awakens only when the desert faces threats his judgment deems existential — which has happened seven times in recorded Scholar history. What happened the other times is not in any record he permits others to read.
Daily Life
Spends centuries in meditation, emerging only when the desert faces existential threats. He maintains the library's deepest wards and occasionally guides those he deems worthy to ancient knowledge. He sleeps in a chamber filled with sand from the First Age.
Secret
The eighth existential threat he assessed and chose not to awaken for was the formation of the Balance Codex itself. He disagreed with its central prohibition and decided that letting it pass unchallenged was less damaging than the schism his intervention would have caused. He believes this was the correct decision. He is not certain.
Narrative Value
Provides direct access to pre-desert history and the only living perspective on the First Archivists. His hidden judgement about the Balance Codex creates the possibility that the Scholars' foundational law rests on a compromise an immortal made in silence.
