Story
ZARA NIGHTFLAME
Jeder trug seine Last. Jeder seine Geheimnisse. Jeder seine ungeschriebene Geschichte.
Und ZARA? ZARA ging weiter.

Backstory
Zara was eight when the Nightflame Guild took her off the streets of Umbraholm, the shadow-clan city where she had been surviving alone for a year after her parents disappeared into a political purge. The Guild raised her as property and then as an asset, spending nine years turning grief and adaptability into lethal skill. By nineteen she was their most reliable operative; by twenty-five she had forty-two confirmed kills and a reputation that made guild rivals hesitant. The fracture came on her forty-third contract: she killed a man the Guild called a traitor and spent the next week learning, through careful and dangerous inquiry, that he had been a resistance figure who had sheltered escaped slaves. She has accepted contracts since then, but she chooses which ones she completes.
Daily Life
She wakes before dawn and runs the city's highest rooftop routes — both training and the only time she feels genuinely alone. Days are spent maintaining cover identities: a dockworker, a market knife-sharpener, a seasonal guard. Evenings involve surveillance of potential contracts she is deciding whether to accept. She visits a priest of Ignatius once a week, says nothing about her work, and listens to the service in silence. She has not slept a full night in years.
Secret
The priest she confesses to is the resistance figure's older brother. He does not know what she does. She suspects he is beginning to guess, and she cannot bring herself to stop going.
Story Hooks
- 1 Zara needs help extracting a target she's decided to save
- 2 Her guild has discovered her deceptions, and she needs protection or an exit strategy
Narrative Value
Zara provides access to Drakon's criminal underworld and represents moral complexity. Her redemption arc and connection to the priest create compelling story opportunities.
