Story

NINA STONEWALKER

Jeder trug seine Last. Jeder seine Geheimnisse. Jeder seine ungeschriebene Geschichte.

Und NINA? NINA ging weiter.

Backstory

Nina comes from a family of tunnel runners stretching back four generations in Baragorn, where speed and map-memory are clan traditions. She ran her first solo message at age twelve, racing word of a mining collapse to the Iron Guard and saving eleven lives. That success became her identity. In the decades since she has memorized every passage in Baragorn's sprawling district network — maintenance shafts, emergency exits, market lanes — committing each route to memory through a private system of rhythmic counting she calls the stone-beat. The resistance courier work came later and was not her choice, but once she agreed she found she could not stop: some messages, she believes, are too important to trust to anyone who might stumble.

Runs messages from dawn to dusk, memorizes routes in the evening, and spends nights in dreamless sleep.
