Story
TOGGLEGEAR
She hides messages in her toys that help children develop critical thinking skills, messages that some powerful people consider “subversive.”. Das war die Last, die TOGGLEGEAR trug. Nicht schwer genug, um zu brechen. Aber schwer genug, um zu spüren. Immer da. Immer gegenwärtig.
Die anderen in Gnomes sahen es manchmal. In den Augen, die zu weit blickten. In den Händen, die zitterten. In der Stille zwischen den Worten.
Aber sie fragten nicht. Denn so war die Art ihrer Welt. Jeder trug seine Last. Jeder seine Geheimnisse. Jeder seine ungeschriebene Geschichte.
Und TOGGLEGEAR? TOGGLEGEAR ging weiter.

Backstory
Togglegear built her first toy at age nine from broken clock parts salvaged from her father's repair shop—a wind-up beetle that walked in a perfect circle. She sold it to a delighted child before the Apprentice Exhibition even ended. She spent the following decades learning every craft that touches toymaking: carpentry, metallurgy, fabric work, basic chronomancy. She transformed her parents' shop into the Whimsy Workshop without ever registering with the Mechanics Guild, which she regards as a philosophical statement. Every toy she sells contains a tiny hidden message wheel spelling out a question worth thinking about, invisible unless the child takes the toy apart—which is exactly the point.
Daily Life
She designs and crafts toys of all kinds, from simple pull-toys for toddlers to elaborate mechanical marvels for older children. Her shop is a wonderland of moving parts, bright colors, and delighted laughter. She personally tests every design with local children.
