Backstory
Aquifer was born beside a forgotten spring deep beneath the surface, one of a rare lineage of Naiads whose elemental affinity drew them downward rather than toward rivers and lakes. During his Craft-Flow Trial at age two hundred he descended further than any living Naiad had dared, reaching the Silent Reservoir — an ancient aquifer said to hold the oldest water-memories in all of Landorya. He passed the trial by reading a memory four centuries old: a warning that the aquifer was slowly being drawn away. Since that day he has dedicated himself to protecting the hidden waters that sustain every surface settlement above and to finding a way to replenish what centuries of over-use have taken. He rarely surfaces, and those who seek his counsel must descend into the dark and cold to find him.
