Korathyn's Journal
Also known as: The Blackfire Chronicles, The Founder's Plates, The First Record
Korathyn's Journal is the personal record of Korathyn Blackfire, founder of the Obsidian Order, etched directly onto a series of Ignaelite plates in the founder's own hand over the course of his decades of rule. It contains accounts of the Dragon Schism, the founding combats, the establishment of the Order's governing principles, and extensive personal reflections on leadership, draconic theology, and the nature of unity. It is considered one of the most sacred texts in Drakonian culture, with passages from it read aloud at every Lord of the Flame investiture ceremony and quoted extensively in Drakonian law and philosophical discourse.

History
The Journal was maintained in the Obsidian Citadel's personal chambers until Korathyn's death, at which point the second Lord of the Flame oversaw its transfer to the newly expanded Serpentine Archives with standing orders that it be treated as the founding document of the Order and the civilization. It has been consulted at moments of constitutional crisis twice in recorded history, once when a succession dispute produced two simultaneous claimants to the Lord of the Flame position, and once when the shadow clan petitioned for a sixth seat on the Order not accounted for in the founding structure. Both consultations were resolved by identifying relevant passages Korathyn had written in anticipation of analogous situations.
Powers & Abilities

Curse or Drawback
No formal curse, but the Journal is notably difficult to falsify or excerpt dishonestly: copies that deliberately misrepresent the source text tend to develop physical flaws — incorrect temperatures, stress fractures — that reveal the falsification to any skilled smith. Whether this is a magical property or the result of the Ignaelite's inherent quality-sensitivity is disputed.
