Cultural Significance
Veil-Walking is the highest aspiration of the Order's most devoted members and the source of the most sacred knowledge in the archives. Almost every culture in Landorya knows the luminous curtain in its myths. The Order reads that as shared memory of the real veil.
Lore
The Order teaches that Landorya was shaped from the mortal side of the veil: the five Celestials reached through the boundary rather than descending into it. The veil protects the mortal world and holds it together. The most sacred legend tells of a Crossed One who briefly saw one of the Celestials, stayed silent for seven years, and afterwards spent a lifetime describing a different facet of what they had seen with every word, never once repeating themselves. An early council nearly abolished the practice. The argument that won was simple: the veil already decides who survives.
