1

Auric Flame, the golden aura of Aurixian lineage

2

Fire-Vein Channeling: draw heat through luminous skin fissures to amplify a spell

3

Thermal Sculpting: shape fire into precise constructs rather than raw blasts

4

Limitations

Dragonfire follows the Ash-Balance Doctrine. Unchecked fire consumes the caster as well as the world. Pour too much into one working and your own fire-veins can burn to glass. Young dragons still aim poorly. They are as dangerous to allies as to foes.

Common Applications

  • Heart-Flare, dense Auric flame that vitrifies stone, used in sieges and sacred executions
  • The Molten Tide, Magma Drake lava stream shaped around allied forces
  • Ash Veil, Ash Wyrm breath of superheated particulate that blinds and smothers without open flame
  • Void-Tongue, forbidden Shadow Drake void-flame that dissolves matter into corrosive darkness
  • Ember-Blessing, gentle Auric fire at hatching that awakens rune-patterns on the egg

Cultural Significance

Dragonfire is the empire's first founding tenet made real: Fire is Life. Every forge, volcanic incubation chamber, and ceremonial flame in Aurixia is controlled draconic sorcery. Spiritual identity is bound to the planet's thermal pulse.

Lore

According to the Crystal Archive, primordial dragon Aurexion the First breathed the inaugural Auric Flame into the Heart-of-Fire Citadel. He sealed the Triad of Scales in living fire rather than mere stone. That flame is said never to have gone out. If it did, the mantle under the Drakon Range would cool within a generation. In the Dark Times rogue Shadow Drakes tried to replace the sacred flame with void-fire. The Order of the Scaled Guardians calls that the Ashen Heresy. The war scorched half the Ashen Plains into sterile wasteland. Dragons rarely speak of it. It is the only recorded time the Ash-Balance Doctrine failed to prevent catastrophe.
