Limitations

Runic Geomancy is the physical form of Memory is Duty. Its inscriptions are the most permanent record dragons possess. The Crystal Archive itself is a masterwork of the art. Great Magma Drakes of every age carved its vaults. Every sitting Elder sealed them.
Lore
The oldest geomantic inscription in the Crystal Archive is attributed to the First Carver, a Magma Drake. He is said to have shaped the volcanic tunnels under the Heart-of-Fire Citadel before the Triad of Scales was written. Scholars believe his deepest seals still hold a primordial magma reservoir under the foundations. Without them the whole Drakon Range would erupt at once. During the siege of the Ashen Plains in the Dark Times, Runic Geomancy, not Dragonfire, broke the advance. Elder Magma Drakes collapsed three mountain passes and entombed the invaders.
