Key Aspects

0

Abyssal communion as a channel for primal oceanic force

1

Elemental amplification of other water magic

2

Thermal vent conduits at the ocean floor

3

Creation of Pressure-Crystals from stored tidal energy

4

Contribution to the Orb of Elemental Dominion

Practitioners

0

Deep-Divers who descend alone to abyssal sites

1

Pearl-Shapers who crystallize abyssal energy into Pearl-Steel and Pressure-Crystals

2

Tide Council elders alone permitted to adjudicate abyssal power

3

Collaborative artificers who worked with Pyrakian fire-smiths on the Orb of Elemental Dominion

Limitations

Deep Magic cannot be fully licensed or codified. The Tide Council could only regulate access to abyssal sites, not the power itself. Prolonged communion thins individual consciousness until identity begins to diffuse like water into a limitless sea.

Common Applications

  • Abyssal Calling, opens a conduit and floods an area with raw water-force
  • Pearl of Pelagius, crystallizes pure abyssal energy into a luminous pearl-stone
  • The Thinning, unmakes physical form by aligning it with boundless deep diffusion
  • Vent-Heart Ignition, releases explosive geothermal force through a Pressure-Crystal
  • Dominion Weaving, pours oceanic elemental force into the Orb of Elemental Dominion

Cultural Significance

Deep Magic held sacred, almost mythological status among the Oceara, reserved for greatest achievements and gravest crises. Its most celebrated expression was the Orb of Elemental Dominion forged with Pyrakian fire-smiths. The modern Nereid ban on Abyssal Summoning continues Ocearan law restricting this power.

Lore

The Cerulean Codex holds the Age of Magic ritual in which Deep-Divers descended to the lowest point of the Abyssal Corridor to draw the water-force that animated the Orb of Elemental Dominion. Legend says the Pyrakian fire-smiths at a volcanic harbor above felt the ocean tremble as the abyssal conduit opened, and every current in the Cerulean Deep briefly reversed. The Oceara recorded this as the Moment of Confluence, proof that water, given enough depth and intention, could embrace all other elements within itself.
