A towering elk with a deep-chested frame built for endurance over speed, its coat a heavy mantle of cream and pale brown fur that grows especially thick and mane-like around the neck and shoulders, giving it a leonine silhouette against the white horizon. Its antlers are broad and branching, naturally accreting a rime of frost along their tines during winter months that hardens into a natural crown of ice.

Gentle and social by nature, the Snowmane Elk thrives in the company of both its own kind and Frostborn handlers. It is calm under duress and difficult to panic, making it ideal for long, dangerous journeys across the Wastes.

The Frostborn have selectively bred the Snowmane Elk over generations, and the relationship between herder and animal is deeply embedded in their cultural identity, a family's herd size is a direct indicator of their wealth and standing.
