The Clock-Owl is a mid-sized nocturnal bird whose tawny feathers are arranged in striking, concentric patterns that uncannily mimic the interlocking teeth of brass gear wheels. Its wide, amber eyes catch the faintest light, gleaming like polished lenses in the dark of a Gnomish workshop.

Clock-Owls are calm, methodical birds that mirror the measured temperament of their Gnomish handlers. Raised from hatching in close proximity to ticking machinery, they grow deeply loyal and rarely display aggression, though they become sharply alert and defensive when their handler is threatened.

Gnomish legend holds that the very first Clock-Owl was not born but assembled, a gift from the mythic Artificer-Ancestor who wove living feathers into a brass messenger frame.
