Geography
Northern Eldoria, bordering Frostborn territories beyond the realm's northern frontier. The landscape is dominated by silver-tinged forest interspersed with rocky highland terrain and cold-water streams that feed south into the broader Eldorian river system. The Marches form a natural buffer zone between the forested Eldorian heartland and the open wastes of the Frostborn north.
Climate
Cold and windswept, with long winters during which the pale silver-blue ambient magical aura of the dormant season extends earlier and lingers later than elsewhere in Eldoria. Summers are brief and bright. Snow is common from late autumn through early spring, and the Silver Foxes of the Marches are at their most visible against the white landscape of midwinter.

History
The Frostleaf Marches have been a zone of both tension and exchange for as long as Eldorian civilization has had northern neighbors. The most celebrated chapters of Marchland history are the campaigns led by Lady Seraphina Oakheart and Lady Cordelia Nightingale two generations ago, when Frostborn incursion threatened to breach the northern forest boundary and the Sylvan Guard's Greenwood Rangers and Moonbow Archers held the tree-line against sustained pressure. Those campaigns are taught in every Eldorian school and have given the Marchland Eldorians a military reputation that extends far beyond their numbers.
Legend & Lore
Rangers stationed in the northern reaches claim to see tracks in new snow that match no living creature, and the silver wolves of the Marches are said to follow these tracks and return calmer than they left. This is attributed to the Silver Walker, an elder Eldorian said to have refused to die at the natural end of their lifespan and to walk the Marches for centuries, sustained by the particularly concentrated ambient magic of the coldest and most magical zone of the Eldorian forest. Old rangers do not laugh at these accounts; they simply note that the Silver Walker has never been seen to do harm, and that the wolf packs that follow the tracks are among the most ecologically stable in the realm.
Life & Culture
Life in the Frostleaf Marches is shaped by cold, community, and the dual cultural heritage that makes Marchland Eldorians distinct throughout the realm. Guild households here maintain the Eldorian craft traditions alongside Frostborn practices of cold-weather survival and sky-spirit observance, and the syncretic religious festivals of the Marches draw scholars and travelers who come to witness a living example of inter-civilizational cultural fusion. The Silver Fox tracking tradition is a central feature of ranger life, and the particular navigation skills of Marchland rangers, honed in low-visibility winter conditions using fox tracks and the subtle silver aura of cold-adapted flora, are considered among the finest in the Sylvan Guard.
