The Training Grounds are deliberately maintained at challenging environmental conditions rather than comfortable ones — the water is colder than the capital's residential zones, current flows are unpredictable and periodically intensified to simulate adverse conditions, and the pressure in the deepest sections is maintained at levels that require acclimation and physical conditioning to endure.
