Geography
The Granite Spine stretches across a vast swath of Landorya, presenting sheer basalt plateaus and deep mountain valleys on its surface while concealing an intricate web of subterranean passages, cavern complexes, and tiered city-states beneath. Crystal caverns studded with Earth-Pulse Crystals and mineral-rich fungi groves punctuate the deeper tunnels.
Climate
Surface conditions are cool to cold with frequent storms sweeping in from the north-west, while underground the range maintains stable, temperate conditions insulated by kilometers of rock. Geothermal vents provide pockets of warmth and humidity throughout the subterranean network.

History
The Granite Spine has been the Talamhari homeland since the civilization's founding 3,500 years before the Age of the Celestial Order, its extraordinary mineral wealth, iron, aetherite, quartz, and geothermal steam, underpinning every aspect of Talamhari culture. Trade routes through the range connected Talamhari city-states with the Zephyrians to the west, who exchanged wind-carved glass for Runic Iron and Gem-Infused Ceramics. Today, the Dwarven Holds of the Iron Peaks continue to inhabit and steward the deeper reaches of the Spine, preserving the Balance of the Bedrock philosophy.
Legend & Lore
It is said that when the first Talamhari geomancer, known only as the Rootspeaker, drove her staff into the heart of what would become the Granite Spine, the mountain range itself exhaled, a great subterranean groan that cracked open the first crystal caverns and set the Earth-Pulse Crystals humming for the very first time. Tunnelers who press too deep into unmapped passages still report hearing that primordial breath echoing through the stone, a rhythmic exhalation they call the Bedrock Sigh. Some among the Dwarven Holds believe the Sigh grows louder in years when the Balance of the Bedrock is threatened, as though the mountain mourns a coming rupture. The most cautious holdmasters refuse to authorise any new excavation without first pressing an ear to the raw tunnel wall and listening for silence, only silence, they say, means the stone consents.
Life & Culture
Life in the Granite Spine unfolds on two distinct registers: the wind-scoured surface of basalt plateaus where traders negotiate at switchback waystation markets, exchanging Runic Iron and Gem-Infused Ceramics with Zephyrian merchants bearing wind-carved glass, and the lamplit subterranean tiers where the true pulse of Talamhari civilisation beats. In the tiered city-states below, geothermal vents are channelled into vast forge-halls and steam-kitchens, their heat regulated by geomancer wardens whose morning ritual involves re-calibrating the vent-valves through resonant stonechant, a low, harmonic prayer addressed directly to the rock. Mineral-rich fungi groves are tended by dedicated cultivators who track the growth cycles against Earth-Pulse Crystal luminescence, treating a dimming crystal as an omen of poor harvest. The Dwarven Holds maintain the Balance of the Bedrock philosophy through seasonal ceremonies in which elder holdmasters seal one tunnel for every new passage opened, ensuring the mountain's structural memory is never overwritten faster than it can be honoured.
