AspectDetails
CurrencyThe Nomads do not use formal currency. Trade operates through an intricate barter system governed by unwritten codes of honor and fairness. Value is assessed by need, craftsmanship, and rarity.
Core CraftsWindgrass weaving (shelters, baskets, tools), leather and hide working (from Aurochs), herbal medicine preparation, caravan building and repair, horse breeding and training, jewelry crafting from plains minerals, falconry equipment.
Export GoodsCrafted items, animal products (hides, wool, dried meats), rare herbs and medicinal plants, Aurora Bloom extracts, handwoven textiles, stories and news from across Landorya.
Import GoodsAdvanced tools and weapons, metal goods, exotic spices, textiles from settled societies, specialized crafting materials not found on the plains.
Trade RoutesCaravan routes criss-cross the Aurora Plains, connecting the Nomads to settled societies along the plains' borders. The Nomads serve as vital links in Landorya's broader trade networks, carrying goods between regions that might otherwise have no contact.
Guilds and SpecializationsNo formal guilds; expertise is passed through family lines and master-apprentice bonds. Recognized specializations include Horse Masters, Story Weavers, Herb Gatherers, Falcon Trainers, and Caravan Builders.

14.2 Notable Trade Partners

The Nomads maintain long-standing trade relationships with several external settlements. The border town of Kethwyn's Post, situated at the southwestern edge of the Aurora Plains, is their most active trading hub. Eldorian metalworkers at Kethwyn's Post exchange forged tools and blade-steel for Nomad textiles and Aurora Bloom extracts. To the east, the Glazed Markets of Sorrath provide the Nomads with ceramics, glass beads, and dyed silks in exchange for cured Auroch hides and Starthread Moss.

14.3 Horse Economy

Nomad-bred horses are considered the finest in Landorya, commanding exceptional value in trade. Each tribe maintains its own bloodlines, carefully bred for endurance, temperament, and plains-hardiness. The most prized breed is the Dawnstrider, recognizable by its pale golden coat and tireless gait. A single Dawnstrider can be traded for a season's worth of metal goods.
