- Creation: Formed by the Celestials as a canvas of boundless potential, the plains were designed to nurture life and inspire wanderlust.
- Evolution: Over centuries, nomadic tribes settled, drawn by the plains' mysterious magic and abundant resources. This evolution marks a deep connection between the land and its inhabitants, where the nomadic lifestyle has become synonymous with the very essence of the plains.
- Present Day: A vast land of hidden magic, the plains are home to roaming tribes and ancient secrets. The mystical aspect of the plains is not overtly visible but is felt in the air and the land, a subtle yet pervasive presence that influences all life.
7.2 Climate
- Mild Temperate: Generally warm with distinct seasonal variations, shaping the landscape and nomadic routes.
- Windswept: Strong winds across the plains necessitate innovative shelters and travel adaptations.
7.3 Key Locations
- The Great Sky Altar: An ancient stone circle located in the heart of the Aurora Plains, believed to be a gateway to the Eternal Sky. The Nomads gather here for their most important rituals and ceremonies.
- The Stardust Springs: Shimmering pools scattered throughout the Aurora Plains, believed to be infused with the essence of the celestial horses. The Nomads consider these springs sacred sites of healing and rejuvenation.
- The Whispering Dunes: A mystical area of the Aurora Plains where the sands are said to hold ancient secrets and whisper the lost language of the earth.
- The Moonlit Oasis: A hidden oasis that appears only once every generation under the full moon's light, a place of healing and rejuvenation where water shimmers with lunar energy.
- Redwater Bend: A wide curve along the seasonal Tavar River in the southern plains, named for its rust-colored clay banks. It serves as a major seasonal meeting point where tribes gather to harvest clay, repair caravans, and trade before the autumn migration.
- The Pillars of Kaelith: A formation of seven towering stone columns standing alone in the eastern grasslands, believed to mark the site where the legendary Plainswalker first set foot on the Aurora Plains. Nomads leave small offerings of braided Windgrass at their base when passing through.
- Thornspire Mesa: A flat-topped mesa in the northern reaches of the plains, crowned with groves of Ironroot Sage. The mesa's caves serve as emergency winter shelters and contain some of the oldest known Trail Glyphs.
- The Hollow of Echoes: A natural amphitheater formed by a ring of low hills in the central plains. Sound carries with uncanny clarity across its basin. The Nomads use it for the largest storytelling competitions and for the official proclamation of confederation-wide decisions.
- Sunstone Ford: A shallow river crossing in the western plains where the riverbed is embedded with pale quartz stones that catch the sunlight. It marks the traditional boundary between the inner plains and the border territories where settled societies begin.
7.4 Fauna and Flora
The plains host a rich diversity of life: Aurochs, Sky Falcons, Dustrunners, Thornback Lizards, and unique species native to Landorya roam the grasslands. Windgrass, Aurora Bloom, Starthread Moss, and Ironroot Sage dominate the plant life, with scattered mesas providing mineral resources and caves offering shelter.
7.5 Natural Resources
Minerals from mesas and caves for crafting tools, jewelry, and ceremonial objects. Herbs and spices harvested with care for medicinal and culinary purposes. Clay from Redwater Bend for pottery and ceremonial use.
