Geography
The Luminous Veil is not a fixed physical location but rather a pervasive, layered boundary perceived most acutely at places where the fundamental forces converge, ancient peaks, still lake-centers, and deep cavern voids where silence itself seems to breathe. Mortal scholars of the Celestial Order believe it thins at certain sacred coordinates.
Climate
Where the Veil thins, witnesses report an unnatural stillness, no wind, no sound, and a quality of light that casts no shadows. The air is described as neither warm nor cold, as though the laws of weather simply do not apply in its immediate presence.

History
The Luminous Veil was established at the moment of Landorya's creation as the natural consequence of the Celestials stepping back from direct intervention. The Celestial Order was founded in part to monitor and interpret disturbances within the Veil, treating ripples in its luminance as messages or warnings from the five primordial beings. Other civilizations have their own names for it, the God-Curtain, the Silver Silence, the Last Sky, but all acknowledge the same phenomenon.
Legend & Lore
It is whispered among the elder scholars of the Celestial Order that the Luminous Veil was not merely a consequence of divine withdrawal, it was a wound. When the five primordial Celestials retreated from Landorya at the moment of creation, the raw severance of their presence tore a rift through the fabric of existence itself, and the Veil's living light is said to be the scar-tissue of that cosmic separation, still warm, still healing after countless ages. Travelers who have lingered too long at the thinning-points, the still centers of certain mountain lakes, the breathless depths of ancient cavern voids, speak of hearing voices not quite in any tongue, felt more in the sternum than in the ear. Most hauntingly, the Celestial Order's oldest illuminated manuscripts record a prophecy that one mortal soul will one day press a palm against the Veil and find it press back, and that on that day, the Silver Silence will either shatter or sing. Whether this is rapture or ruin, no interpreter has yet agreed.
Life & Culture
Daily devotion within the Celestial Order is structured around the observation and record of Veil-phenomena, monks and astral-cartographers rise before dawn to document any shift in luminance visible from their high sanctuaries, transcribing the patterns of flickering light into vast codices believed to encode divine intention. At sacred convergence-sites, ordained Veil-Wardens perform the Rite of Still Witness at solar zenith, standing motionless at lake-centers on narrow stone platforms or at the mouths of deep cavern voids, their eyes open and unfocused, waiting for the Veil to thin and offer what it will. Common pilgrims who have no rank within the Order tie strips of silver cloth to iron posts at recognized thinning-points, each strip inscribed with a question for the Celestials, the cloth is never retrieved, and by morning it is invariably gone, though no wind is ever felt. Among the broader cultures of Landorya, swearing an oath "upon the God-Curtain" is considered the most solemn and irrevocable binding a mortal can invoke, for it is believed the Celestials watch through the Veil with particular attention whenever their boundary is named aloud.
