Geography
Stretching beneath the entirety of Landorya, the Deep Earth is structured in overlapping strata rather than distinct horizontal layers, each stratum pulses with a dominant elemental resonance yet bleeds into its neighbors. Ley-line flows, rather than walls or borders, define where one kingdom's territory ends and another begins, making the region a fluid, ever-shifting labyrinth of interconnected tunnels, caverns, and open underground seas.
Climate
Conditions vary wildly from stratum to stratum: scorching and sulfurous near the magma veins of the Fire Kingdom, cold and dripping with mineral moisture near the tidal grottos, and eerily calm and luminous in the aether-touched depths. No single climate dominates, the Deep Earth is a patchwork of microclimates sustained by elemental forces rather than solar cycles.

History
The Deep Earth is believed to predate the surface civilizations of Landorya entirely, formed by the first Elder Race, the Elementals, as the original cradle of creation. Over uncounted ages it has served as both homeland and connective tissue for the Confederation, and surface-dwelling civilizations that have delved too deep have invariably encountered its boundaries, sometimes forging cautious trade agreements along the upper strata, and sometimes triggering conflicts that reshaped the surface world above.
Legend & Lore
It is said that the Deep Earth did not form, it remembered itself into being. Elder lore holds that when the first Elemental willed thought into matter, the resulting tremor carved every passage, sea, and vault simultaneously, as if the underworld exhaled all at once and never fully drew breath again. Some scholars of the Confederation whisper of a phenomenon called the Resonance Tide: a rare, cyclical pulse that travels through every ley-line at once, briefly aligning all five elemental frequencies into a single chord audible only to those deep enough below the surface, and those who have heard it, it is said, never sleep soundly again. The most persistent rumor among deep-delvers is that somewhere beneath even the lowest-mapped stratum lies an unmarked chamber, the Cradle Unlit, where the first act of Elemental creation is still occurring, perpetually, in a loop that neither time nor entropy can interrupt.
Life & Culture
Life in the Deep Earth is measured not by sunrise but by elemental shift, the slow brightening of aether-veins, the rhythm of tidal grottos filling and draining, the hour-long pulses of magma rivers that serve as communal timekeeping across kingdoms. Travelers and traders move along ley-line corridors where the dominant resonance shifts perceptibly underfoot, demanding attunement or escort from those native to each stratum; a Fire-kin merchant entering a Wind-carved vault must adjust breath, posture, and intent or risk elemental rejection. Confluence Villages, settlements deliberately built at the bleeding edges where two or more kingdoms' resonances overlap, are the true cultural heartbeat of the region, hosting councils, markets, and the rituals of inter-elemental binding that keep the Confederation's treaties alive. Among the most sacred of these rituals is the Strata-Walk, in which representatives of all five kingdoms descend together to the deepest accessible passage and each leaves an elemental imprint in the stone, renewing the invisible compact that holds the whole living labyrinth together.
