Geography
The arch spans a narrow gorge whose far side falls within Drakonian-claimed territory, making it a literal threshold between two worlds. On the Fey side, the approach is lined with Duskbane Ferns that curl and hum at the passage of non-Fey entities. On the Drakonian side, the vegetation gives way abruptly to volcanic basalt. The arch itself is entirely natural, formed by geological processes, though the Fey regard its position at the exact territorial boundary as a deliberate arrangement by the landscape itself.
Climate
The gorge channelizes wind from both directions, creating unpredictable gusts that carry alternating warmth from the Drakonian side and the cool sweetness of the Fey realm. The arch's magical interplay produces visible heat shimmer directly beneath its keystone even at ambient temperatures far below those that would cause such an effect in natural stone. After the Unseelie Schism, temporal anomalies in the area caused perceived time to run at slightly different rates on either side of the arch, a disruption Elder Seer Myrvyn Nightbloom required three years of sustained Chrono-Mist work to stabilize.

History
The arch gained formal significance during the negotiations that produced the Treaty of Whispering Winds following the Veil-War of 842 YR, when it was chosen as neutral ground because neither side could plausibly claim it. Every subsequent diplomatic engagement between Fey and Drakonian representatives has been conducted beneath the arch's span. After the Unseelie Schism introduced temporal instability to the area, the arch's use was temporarily suspended until Nightbloom's stabilization work was completed, during which period a provisional Pact-Thread relay was used instead.
Legend & Lore
Both Fey and Drakonian traditions include an account of the arch's origin, and the accounts are mutually exclusive. The Fey hold that it was shaped by Lumen-Willows whose roots grew beneath the gorge for ten thousand years before splitting the stone from below in a single spring. Drakonians hold that a volcanic eruption launched a stone arc that cooled mid-flight and landed perfectly spanning the gap. Scholars from both civilizations have examined the arch and found evidence consistent with both theories, which neither side considers a resolution.
Life & Culture
The arch is staffed by a permanent Glimmerguard detachment of Veil-Rangers who rotate every lunar cycle to prevent Veil-Fade from prolonged exposure to the mixed-magic environment. The diplomatic pavilion is maintained in constant readiness by a small team of Fey attendants who treat it as a sacred trust: the table is always set, the Pact-Thread relay always active, and the Duskbane Ferns on the Fey approach always freshly sung to attentiveness. During inter-species festivals, the arch serves as the ceremonial entrance through which Drakonian guests enter the Fey realm under escort.
