Geography

The Hollow is not anchored to any fixed position but orbits a slow invisible path above the Eternal Twilight Forest, always remaining within the Court's hidden realm. Its floor is a disc of compressed starlight framed by curved tiers of crystallized Veil-energy where Elder Seers and their attendants take their places. The central dais is open to the night sky, which the Fey regard as a reminder that the Court answers to no ceiling.

Climate

Within the Hollow a preternatural silence falls the moment deliberations begin, sustained by a ward of Shade-Moss lining the tiered seats. The air carries the sharp sweetness of Elowen-Bells that grow along the outer rim, and light-motes drift down from the open sky in a slow continuous rain that the Fey interpret as attentive witnesses.

History

The Glimmering Hollow first manifested during the forging of the Twilight Covenant, called into existence when the earliest Court-Circles needed a neutral ground no single Circle could claim as its own territory. Its floating nature was deliberate: by giving the seat of governance no roots, the founders ensured no lineage could inherit it by right of soil. Every significant decision in the Court's history, from the Thornshade Accord to the convening of the Council of Shadows, has been ratified on its central dais.

Legend & Lore

Elder Seers teach that the Glimmering Hollow is not constructed but remembered into existence each night by the collective will of the Twilight Council. Should all thirteen seats ever stand empty simultaneously, the Hollow would cease to appear and could not be called back until a new generation earned their places through the Rite of the Ever-Gleam. This legend fuels the intense rivalry among candidates, since to allow a seat to lapse is considered a civilizational failure of the gravest kind.

Life & Culture

On nights when the Council convenes, Glimmerguard Mist-Wardens form a perimeter in the forest below while Sylph-Riders circle invisibly overhead. Attendants called Veil-Scribes transcribe proceedings onto Dream-Moss parchment in glyphs that will only become legible to authorized readers. After major rulings the Elder Seers remain on the dais for a private ritual of Resonance Renewal, pressing their palms to the central floor and re-weaving their individual Veil-signatures into the shared structure that holds the Hollow aloft, an act that doubles as both a physical maintenance task and a reaffirmation of collective identity.
