Geography
The High Canopy exists at the height of the tallest ancient trees, some of which extend fifty to eighty feet above the main canopy ceiling that shelters the bulk of Sylvan settlement. At this altitude, individual trees thin to their uppermost boughs, creating a sparse, open environment of swaying branches and panoramic sight-lines. The Wind Whisperer Shrine of Elmorin Breezesinger occupies a broad ancient bough of the forest's tallest tree. The Storm Tower of Oaken Stormheart is the only Greenspeaker-grown structure at this altitude.
Climate
The High Canopy is the most climatically extreme environment in the Eldris Forest, exposed to full wind, direct sun, and the weather systems that the lower canopy's shelter largely deflects. Temperature swings significantly between day and night, and wind is a constant presence ranging from pleasant breezes to the same mountain gales that batter Thornhaven Grove. Oaken Stormheart's weather-working operates from this altitude precisely because exposure to the relevant weather systems is necessary for effective intervention.

History
The High Canopy has always been recognized as a special category of Eldris Forest territory, neither the social world of the city-groves nor the earth-world of the forest floor, but a third realm between forest and sky. Its primary inhabitants throughout recorded history have been the weather-working tradition associated with Oaken Stormheart's lineage and the Wind Whisperer tradition that Elmorin Breezesinger maintains. Ranger use of the High Canopy for long-range scouting is a more recent development, introduced following the expansion of border monitoring requirements.
Legend & Lore
Elmorin Breezesinger, at four hundred and twenty-three years the most ancient active practitioner in the Eldris Forest, claims that the Wind Whisperer spirit he communes with from the High Canopy is the same presence his lineage has engaged with since before memory — a consciousness that moves with the wind across all of Landorya and returns to the Eldris Forest's tallest boughs when it needs to be still. His cryptic prophecies, delivered in riddles at the Solstice Ceremony each year, are understood by the Sylvan Council as transmissions from this larger awareness rather than as products of Elmorin's own foresight.
Life & Culture
Daily life in the High Canopy is experienced by very few — Elmorin Breezesinger, Oaken Stormheart, the handful of Rangers skilled enough for High Canopy patrol, and the occasional senior Greenspeaker undertaking specific workings. The altitude, exposure, and physical demands of movement through the sparse upper boughs create a community of remarkable physical capability and unusual psychological self-sufficiency. Elmorin and Oaken Stormheart are both known for long periods of complete solitude interrupted by the most intense social engagement imaginable when they descend to the lower forest for Solstice Ceremony or Council consultation.
