4.1 Geography & Habitats
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Geography & Habitats | The Court's realms are scattered across Eternal Twilight Forests, Silver-Mist Marshes, Moon-lit Glades, Crystal-Veil Caves, and Floating Luminant Islands. These habitats exist in a pocket-dimension overlay that can be entered through Fey Gates—naturally occurring arches of bracken that shimmer at dusk. |
4.2 Biodiversity & Adaptations
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Biodiversity & Adaptations | Flora: - Lumen-Willows - glow at night, store twilight energy. - Shade-Moss - absorbs sound, creating silent zones. - Echo-Lilies - repeat spoken words as harmonic chords. Fauna: - Glimmer-Stags - antlers of light, can summon protective auras. - Mist-Foxes - become vapor, serve as scouts. - Twilight Owls - see through illusion, act as messengers. |
4.3 Named Flora in Detail
Beyond the widely known species, the Fey realm hosts a staggering variety of magical plant life:
- Duskbane Ferns — tall, frond-heavy plants whose leaves exude a faint anti-illusion field. They grow naturally around Fey Gates and serve as a natural alarm system: if a non-Fey passes through, the ferns curl inward and emit a low hum audible to nearby Veil-Rangers.
- Moonpetal Orchids — found exclusively in the Moonpetal Grove, these orchids bloom only during the deepest phase of the Twilight Cycle. Their petals, when distilled, produce Moonpetal Essence, a reagent used in the most potent healing salves. The Grove is tended by a dedicated order of Root-Singers who have cultivated the orchids for over two thousand years.
- Whisperthread Vines — parasitic creepers that attach to Lumen-Willows and amplify the host tree's bioluminescence in exchange for nutrients. They produce slender, silver tendrils used in the creation of Veil-Silk.
- Thornheart Brambles — the defensive plant species coaxed into Thorn-Walls. Left to their own devices, Thornheart Brambles form impenetrable thickets around areas of high Weave density, acting as natural guardians.
- Elowen-Bells — delicate, bell-shaped flowers said to have first appeared wherever the legendary bard Elowen the Dream-Singer performed. They produce a faint, melodic chime when brushed by wind, and fields of them create hauntingly beautiful natural music. They grow in abundance around the Glimmering Hollow.
- Starbloom Moss — a luminous ground cover found on the Floating Luminant Islands, particularly dense on Starbloom Reach. It glows with a steady blue-white light and is the primary food source for Star-Moths.
4.4 Named Fauna in Detail
- Dusk-Weavers — large, orb-weaving spiders whose silk is naturally imbued with Veil-energy. Their webs shimmer with iridescent light and are harvested (with the spiders' cooperation, negotiated by Root-Singers) for use in Veil-Silk production.
- Ember-Salamanders — small, fire-resistant amphibians found near the Ember Confluence. They glow with a warm amber light and are believed to be distantly related to creatures of the Drakonian territories. Despite their fiery appearance, they are gentle and often kept as companions by Fey children.
- Hollow-Hares — rabbit-like creatures that can phase partially through solid matter, leaving only their ears visible above ground. They are a food source for Mist-Foxes and play a key role in aerating the soil of the Eternal Twilight Forests.
- Veil-Drakes — small, semi-draconic creatures that dwell in the Crystal-Veil Caves; not true dragons but distantly related, they breathe condensed twilight rather than fire.
- Chorus Frogs — amphibians of the Silver-Mist Marshes whose croaking harmonizes into complex melodies. Fey musicians study their patterns for compositional inspiration, and some Root-Singers can direct a Chorus Frog ensemble to produce specific harmonies.
4.5 Ecological Cycles & Practices
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Ecological Cycles & Practices | The Fey observe the Twilight Cycle—a 400-year rhythm where the world's ambient light shifts from perpetual dawn to perpetual dusk and back. During the Dusk-Rising phase, they plant Veil-seedlings that will bloom during the next Dawn-Fall. Their stewardship includes Seasonal Re-Weaving, a ritual that repairs damaged ley-lines and re-balances the Weave after mortal wars. |
4.6 Crafts & Environmental Professions
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Environmental Crafts | - Veil-Weavers - illusion artisans who craft glamour-shrouds for homes and courts. - Root-Singers - plant communicators who negotiate with ancient trees for resources. - Mist-Masons - builders of fog-fortresses and vapor-bridges. - Dream-Smiths - forge Dream-Essence into consumable potions and talismans. |
4.7 Eco-Tourism & Visitor Rules
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Eco-Tourism & Visitor Rules | Visitors must sign a Veil-Pact—a promise not to disturb the natural illusion. Guided tours are led by Glimmer-Guides, who use Dream-shards to reveal hidden histories. Unauthorized photography is forbidden; any captured image is instantly blurred by the Weave. |
4.8 Experience & Adventure Offerings
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Experiences & Adventures | - Night-Bloom Hunts - searching for rare luminous mushrooms that grant temporary night-vision. - Mirror-Maze Challenges - navigating ever-shifting illusion corridors for prestige and a Veil-seed reward. - Dream-Diving - entering a collective dreamscape to retrieve lost memories or negotiate with ancient spirits. |
4.9 Accommodations & Hospitality
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Accommodations & Hospitality | Moon-Hollows - cavernous lodges lined with living vines that adjust temperature and scent to match a guest's mood. Each room is a micro-glade with its own miniature waterfall and fire-fly canopy. |
