Notable Figures & Legends

22.1 Lady Lirael, Keeper of the First Veil

Figure / LegendDetails
Lady Lirael, Keeper of the First VeilThe oldest known living Fey and custodian of the Heart-Stone of the First Twilight. Lirael has witnessed every Gleam since the Dawn of Landorya and carries within her consciousness memories stretching back to the planting of the first Veil-seed. She rarely speaks, communicating instead through Dream-Echoes that arrive as visions of cascading silver light. Her mere presence stabilizes the Weave in a wide radius. She has never taken a side in the Seelie-Unseelie spectrum, embodying perfect twilight balance.

22.2 Lord Thorne, Master of the Wild Hunt

Figure / LegendDetails
Lord Thorne, Master of the Wild HuntCommander of the ritualized Hunt that rides during Dusk-Rising and Shadow-Wane. Thorne is a figure of awe and dread—charismatic, ancient, and unapologetically Unseelie in temperament. He rides a Shadow-Stag (a Glimmer-Stag whose antlers burn with dark fire) and wields the Thorn-Glaive, a weapon said to be grown from the first bramble of the realm. Despite his fearsome reputation, Thorne is a staunch defender of the Twilight Covenant and has personally sealed three Weave-tears during his tenure.

22.3 Elowen the Dream-Singer

Figure / LegendDetails
Elowen the Dream-SingerA legendary Twilight Bard from the Ember-Tide Gleam of the 7th Cycle. Elowen composed the Ballad of the Breath Between, the definitive poetic rendering of the Fey creation myth, and is credited with founding the first Dream-Academy. Her Echo-Song performances were so powerful that they allegedly caused a new species of flower—the Elowen-Bell—to spontaneously bloom wherever she sang. She chose the Rite of Return, and her memory-current in the Dream-Weave is among the most frequently encountered.

22.4 Morrighan the Unbound

Figure / LegendDetails
Morrighan the UnboundThe rogue Unseelie lord who triggered the Wild Hunt Crusade of 1123 YR. Morrighan rejected the Twilight Covenant, declaring that the Fey should rule mortals openly rather than observe from the shadows. He raised an army of Unseelie extremists, breached several Fey Gates, and terrorized mortal settlements before Lord Thorne's Hunt cornered him at the Ashen Ridge. Morrighan was sealed within a Crystal Tomb—a prison of condensed twilight—where he remains, his consciousness trapped in an endless dream loop.

22.5 The First Weaver

Figure / LegendDetails
The First WeaverA semi-mythical figure said to have been the Celestial who shaped the Veil-seed and taught the earliest Fey the rudiments of Glamour. Some scholars of the Veil-Council believe the First Weaver was not a Celestial but a proto-Fey—the first being to spontaneously emerge from the Weave. Debate on this question has continued for millennia without resolution, and both interpretations coexist in official lore.

22.6 The Pale Hart

Figure / LegendDetails
The Pale HartNot a person but a legend in its own right. This singular white Glimmer-Stag appears only during the Shadow-Wane Gleam and has been sighted exactly seven times across recorded history. Each appearance preceded a pivotal event: the Unseelie Schism, the Veil-War, the Wild Hunt Crusade, and others. Whether the Hart causes these events, foresees them, or is merely drawn to moments of great change remains unknown.

22.7 Elder Seer Myrvyn Nightbloom

Elder Seer Myrvyn Nightbloom holds the Seat of Mist on the Twilight Council and is the realm's foremost authority on Chrono-Mist magic. A Mist-Fey of indeterminate but immense age, Myrvyn is recognizable by the perpetual haze of silver fog that surrounds him — a side effect of decades of temporal experimentation. He stabilized the time anomalies at Duskfire Arch after the Unseelie Schism and developed the theoretical framework that led to the Chrono-Mist Stabilizer. Myrvyn communicates almost exclusively through Dream-Echoes that manifest as swirling mist-shapes, a habit that makes Council meetings with him disorienting for younger attendees. He is considered the most likely candidate to eventually discover the secret of stable Veil-Folding.

22.8 Glimmerguard Captain Faela Thornshade

Captain Faela Thornshade is the commanding officer of the Glimmerguard and the most decorated military figure in the current Fey generation. A Grove-Fey with copper-toned skin and hair woven with living Thornheart Bramble tendrils, Faela earned her rank through the defense of Thornshade Hollow (see Section 3.6). She is known for her pragmatic, no-nonsense demeanor — unusual among the typically mercurial Fey — and her insistence on regular border patrols even during the relatively peaceful Dawn-Fall and Ember-Tide Gleams. Her Mist-Fox familiar, Ashwind, is legendary among the Veil-Rangers for its ability to scout vast distances while maintaining telepathic contact.

22.9 Dream-Smith Orin Twilight

Dream-Smith Orin Twilight is the leading experimental researcher in the Fey realm, based primarily at the Starbloom Reach Academy. A Star-Fey whose skin glimmers with shifting constellations that rearrange themselves when he is deep in thought, Orin is both celebrated and controversial. His invention of the Chrono-Mist Stabilizer earned him the title of Gleam-Master, but his ongoing pursuit of permanent Dream-Forging has drawn criticism from conservative Council members who see it as skirting the Veil-Balance Act. Orin argues that the Act prohibits Over-Veiling — permanent illusions — and that Dream-Forged objects are not illusions but materialized consciousness, a distinction the Court of Dusk has yet to rule on definitively.
