Chivalric values are instilled from childhood. The concept of honor — fulfilling obligations, treating all persons with dignity regardless of station, and using strength in service of the vulnerable rather than for personal advantage — is not merely an aristocratic code but a civic one, permeating every level of Eldorian society. Travelers who have visited Eldorian towns frequently comment on the courtesy extended to strangers, the absence of begging in public spaces (attributed to the guild welfare system), and the directness and fairness with which market transactions are conducted.
