Economy & Craft

14.1 Currency and Trade

AspectDetails
CurrencyThe Sylvan Elves do not use formal currency among themselves; their internal economy operates on a system of reciprocal exchange and communal sharing. For trade with other races, they accept Eldorian trade-tokens or barter directly.
Core CraftsBowcraft (enchanted longbows grown from living wood), Herbalism (potions, remedies, and healing salves), Weaving (spider-silk textiles and tapestries), Living Architecture (Greenspeaking-shaped structures), Moonweaving (enchanted cloaks and wards), Crystal-work (items forged in the Emerald Caves from bioluminescent crystals).
ExportsHerbal remedies, enchanted bows and staves, spider-silk textiles, magical wood, moonlight-woven cloaks, healing potions, exquisite nature-crafted art, and rarely, magical artifacts imbued with forest essence.
ImportsMinerals and metals (from Dwarves and Eldorians), artisan crafts from human regions, salt, certain spices not found in the forest, and occasionally Nereid pearls for ceremonial use.
Trade RoutesLimited forest-edge trading posts where Eldorian and Nomad merchants meet Sylvan representatives. The Nomads of Aurora serve as intermediary traders, carrying Sylvan goods to distant markets.
Guilds and SpecializationsNo formal guilds exist; instead, Circles of practitioners (Healer's Circle, Archer's Circle, Weaver's Circle, Greenspeaker's Circle) share knowledge and maintain standards through mentorship and tradition.
