Notable Figures & Legends

Archon Seraphis Dawnmantle, at four hundred twelve years of age, is a lumomancer of rare depth and a former Star-Navigator whose calm, measured judgement guided the Aeriel people through the Duskwind Crisis. Seraphis's willingness to personally descend to the Eldorian capital twice during their tenure marks them as unusually engaged with the wider world. Councillor Aelith Starweaver of the Ministry of Celestial Affairs is widely regarded as the foremost living astromancer in Caelum. Councillor Varek Stormborn of Sky Defense is said to have trained every senior Stormstriker currently serving in the Skyguard. Commander Thalor Galecrest, the decorated veteran of the Drakonian Airspace Skirmishes, now commands the Skyguard and is the architect of the graduated-response doctrine.

Aelwyn Star-Gazer, Grand Astronomer of the Celestial Spire, has served for nearly two centuries and carries the burden of a foresight he trusts more than any colleague can verify. Zenith Sky-Master, Supreme Elder of the Aether Council, remembers the Shattered Skies from childhood and has guided Caelum through three Archons' tenures before Seraphis. Fade Memory-Keeper, Senior Archivist of four centuries' service, is the living custodian of the Star-Charts Archive and guardian of truths that someone has been quietly trying to alter. Seraphina Light-Healer, healer and medical researcher at the Healing Houses, guards a discovered cure that threatens powerful interests.

In legend, the Seven First Watchers stand as the archetypal founders of the civilizational mission. The Sky-Breaker of the Shattered Age — a legendary figure who is said to have held a fragment of sky together by sheer aeromantic will for long enough that others could escape — appears in a dozen variant tellings and has never been conclusively identified with any historical individual. The legend is understood by most scholars as an archetype of selfless civic sacrifice rather than a literal biography.
