5.2 Diplomatic Relations

  • Permanent embassies in Eldoria (rune-exchange), Shimmering Isles (navigation charts), Frostborn Highlands (metal trade), and Celestial Order's Sky-Citadel (astronomical data).
  • Ambassadorial Caravan
a rotating delegation of scholars, diplomats, and merchants that travels the major trade routes every two years.

5.3 The Ambassadorial Caravan

The Ambassadorial Caravan is one of the most iconic institutions of the Desert Scholars. Every two years, a grand procession of 200--300 scholars, diplomats, merchants, and Sand Guard escorts departs Sahar-Al-Mutaqaddim on a circuit that visits the major civilizations of Landorya. The Caravan carries:

  • Diplomatic gifts
Memory Crystals preloaded with recent discoveries, Star-Lenses, and vials of Sand-Elixir.
  • Trade goods
Chrono-Gears, Sand-Silk textiles, Mirage Powder, and astronomical charts.
  • Cultural performers
sand-dancers, star-chanters, and storytellers who share the Scholars' oral traditions.

The Caravan is led by the Caravan-Vizier, currently Faris al-Dahab, a veteran diplomat known for negotiating the most recent water-sharing agreement with the Sylvan Elves.
