17.4 The Five Schools of Sand-Weave

Sand-Weave magic is divided into five recognized schools, each with its own techniques and applications:

  1. Construction Weave
the art of shaping sand into durable structures. Practitioners are the Sand-Masons.
  2. Battle Weave
defensive and offensive sand manipulation. Taught exclusively to the Sand Guard.
  3. Divination Weave
using sand patterns to read the future or detect hidden objects. Practiced by Ruin Archaeologists.
  4. Healing Weave
a rare and difficult discipline that uses micro-vibrations of sand particles to stimulate cellular repair. Only a handful of Masters possess this skill.
  5. Resonance Weave
the most esoteric school, focused on communicating with the ambient sand-mana itself. Practitioners of Resonance Weave claim they can "hear" the desert's memories, and their insights have led to several major archaeological discoveries.
