StratoStar-metal disc with an embedded sliver of luminous crystal100 ZephyrsThe currency of major transactions: airship purchases, property, inter-island trade contracts.
Archon's MarkRare, palm-sized sky crystal token bearing the Archon's seal, enchanted against forgery1,000 ZephyrsReserved for institutional transactions, inter-civilizational trade, and treasury operations. Rarely seen in common circulation.

Aeriels use a barter-and-credit system anchored by Sky Tokens (the collective term for all denominations), small discs of pressed sky crystal inscribed with value runes. High-value exchanges are recorded in enchanted ledgers at the Celestial Academy. Credit arrangements between established merchants are common, with the Academy's ledger-keepers serving as neutral arbiters of debt and repayment.

14.3 Exports & Imports

Exports: Celestial maps, sky silk, magical feathers, astronomical instruments, star-metal tools, weather prediction almanacs, enchanted crystal communication devices.

Imports: Metals, ground goods, foodstuffs (grain, meat, root vegetables), timber, gemstones, alchemical reagents from surface realms.

14.4 Trade Routes & Logistics

Aerial trade lanes connect Caelum to Eldorian, Celestial Order, and Drakonian territories. Airship caravans make regular runs along established sky corridors. High-altitude trade routes are a strategic advantage, as they are largely inaccessible to ground-based raiders. The primary trade hub is Cloudholm's Peregrine Market, where foreign merchants rent stalls and conduct business under Aeriel trade law.

14.6 Economic Challenges

The Aeriel economy is constrained by the small population and the limited agricultural capacity of the floating islands. Caelum can produce sufficient sky-fruit and windwheat to feed approximately two-thirds of its population; the remaining third relies on imported foodstuffs. This dependence on ground-level trade partners is the Aeriels' greatest economic vulnerability and a persistent topic of debate within the Aether Council.
