Architecture & Infrastructure

21.1 Celestial Constructs

The Celestials do not build in the mortal sense; they resonate structures into being. The Celestial Mountains themselves are a construct — a crystalline lattice of compacted starlight that stabilizes the world's magical field.

21.2 Mortal Architecture (Celestial Order)

Temples and observatories are built from Ætheric Crystal, Starlight Stone (a pale, luminous mineral), and Temporal Alloy (a metal that does not rust or decay). Buildings are aligned to the five Celestial sigils for maximum resonance.

Key architectural principles:

  • Pentagonal symmetry — all major structures have five-sided floor plans or five towers.
  • Open ceilings — temples leave the roof partially open for starlight to enter.
  • Resonance acoustics — walls are curved to amplify harmonic frequencies.
  • Living crystal integration — Crystal-Bloom Trees are incorporated as structural elements.

21.3 Iconic Structures

StructureDescription
Chronos-SpireTallest structure in Landorya; its tip enters a pocket of slowed time
The Resonance ChamberSpherical room where the five sigils converge; used for the Grand Resonance Rite
The Starlight ObservatoryOpen-air platform for celestial observation; houses the largest Crystal Harp
The Wall of EchoesMemorial wall in the Temple of the First Dawn; every deceased member's resonance name is inscribed here
The Vault of the Eternal LightUnderground treasury and Crystal Codex chamber
The Pilgrim's GateOrnate entrance to the Path of the First Creation; five crystal arches, one per domain

21.4 Transport Infrastructure

Temporal Gateways — instantaneous travel, heavily regulated. Only three permanent gateways exist: Temple of the First Dawn ↔ Quell-Spitzen Hospice, Temple ↔ Starwatch Citadel, and Temple ↔ Resonance Academy. All other gateway use requires Circle of Five approval.

Aetheric Sky-Ships — the Order operates a small fleet of seven sky-ships for pilgrimage transport and emergency response. Pilgrimage Paths — stone roads lit by embedded starlight crystals, connecting temples across the mountains.
