External Interaction & Guardian Role
6.1 Contact with the Mortal World
Avatars appear in dreams, visions, or during celestial events (meteor showers, auroras). The Celestials also speak through Chosen Ones — mortals who have been imbued with a fragment of Celestial essence. These appearances are exceedingly rare; the last confirmed avatar manifestation was over 300 years ago.
6.2 Contribution to Stability
By enforcing the Balancing Edict, the Celestials keep the magical economy from spiralling out of control. Their Guardian Entities intervene when a nation attempts to harness raw Celestial energy. The sealed Entropic Rift from the Great Dissonance remains under constant surveillance by the Order's Balance-Wardens.
6.3 Environmental Stewardship
The Celestials appointed the Celestial Order and the Warden-Orders (e.g., the Star-Wardens of the Ætheric Peaks) to police the Sphere-Boundaries and punish violations of the Resonance Principle.
6.4 Current Political Stance
After the Celestial Schism, the Celestials have largely retreated to the Celestial Realm, observing the world with detached vigilance. They are alert to any resurgence of Celestial-Magic that threatens the cosmic balance, but they will only intervene when the Great Dissonance threatens to repeat.
