Local Myths & Tales

25.1 The Chronicle of the First Dawn

The creation myth: five tones rang in the void, and from their resonance Landorya was born. The foundational text of the Celestial Order. Recited in full every year at the Festival of the First Light.

25.2 The Song of the Five

A musical-poetic cycle in which each Celestial's nature is expressed through a unique melody. Performed at Celestial Convergences. The Song is said to be a mortal approximation of the actual sounds the Celestials made during creation — scholars debate whether a perfect rendition could briefly open a gateway to the Celestial Realm.

25.3 The Architects' Folly

The cautionary tale of the Great Dissonance — mortals who sought to become Celestials and nearly destroyed the world. Their names were erased; their sigils were scratched from every crystal. Told to every Initiate on their first day at the Resonance Academy.

25.4 The Oracle's First Dream

How Elandros, a shepherd, received the first vision from Nous and founded the Celestial Order. A story of humility and destiny. The dream itself is depicted in the oldest mural at the Temple of the First Dawn: five streams of light converging on a single kneeling figure.

25.5 The Sleeping Celestial

A popular folk tale claiming that a sixth Celestial (representing Emotion) sleeps beneath the ocean, waiting for the world to need it. The Celestial Order considers this heretical but acknowledges its cultural significance. Variants of this tale exist in Nereid, Naiad, and Islander folklore, each claiming the Sleeping Celestial rests in their waters.

25.6 The Starwind Prophecy

A prophecy delivered through Oracle visions: three siblings born under a Celestial Convergence will restore a lost balance. Connected to the Starwind children's quest. The prophecy remains unfulfilled; the Order monitors all births during Convergence windows.

25.7 The Weaver's Lament

A tragic ballad of Resonance-Weaver Kyrin, who loved a mortal from Azaria but was forbidden to leave the Order. Kyrin wove a Celestial Crystal pendant that allowed them to share dreams across the continent. When Kyrin died, the pendant shattered — but folk tradition says its fragments can still be found, and those who hold one dream of their beloved. A favourite of travelling bards.

25.8 The Bridge of Starlight

A children's tale: during the longest night of winter, a bridge of pure starlight appears between the highest peak of the Celestial-Kordilleren and the sky itself. Only those who are truly pure of heart can walk it, and at the top they may ask the Celestials one question. The tale reinforces the Order's teaching that wisdom is earned through virtue, not power.
