Craftsmen & StorytellersValued contributors to the clan's survival and cultural expression. Their skills in toolmaking, art, and oral tradition are essential.

19.2 Family & Kinship

Family and clan ties are the bedrock of Frostborn society. Families are close-knit, with multiple generations often living together. Clans are like extended families, with a strong sense of loyalty and obligation to one another.

19.3 Community Engagement

Community engagement is high among the Frostborn. Most activities, from hunting to crafting to storytelling, are done communally. Decisions that affect the clan are made through discussion and consensus. In their interactions with other clans, the Frostborn prioritize peace and cooperation, recognizing that all Frostborn face the same challenges. Disputes between clans are rare and usually resolved through negotiation and compromise.

19.4 Social Support & Welfare

The harsh environment of the Frostbound Wastes necessitates a strong social support system. The Frostborn take care of each other, ensuring that everyone has what they need to survive. The concept of individual wealth is foreign to them - resources are shared for the good of the clan. The Frostborn recognize and celebrate individual skills and contributions. Successful hunters, skilled craftsmen, wise shamans, and compelling storytellers are all honored for their unique abilities.

19.5 Gender & Social Roles

Frostborn society is notably egalitarian in matters of gender. The demands of survival in the Frostbound Wastes leave no room for restricting capable individuals from any role based on anything other than skill and aptitude. Women hunt, fight, and lead clans alongside men. The legendary Tura Frostbeard, their greatest hunter, was a woman. Chief Haldra Whitepeak and Chief Ylva Windrunner currently lead two of the most prominent clans. The only role with a historical gender skew is that of shaman, where women have traditionally been more numerous, though male shamans are not uncommon.
