Origin & Development

9.1 The Origin of the Eldorians

The story of the Eldorians is deeply entwined with the history of Landorya itself.

According to Eldorian legend, their ancestors were born from the union of the forest spirits and the first humans to settle in the woodlands. These first Eldorians were gifted with a deep connection to nature and an innate understanding of the balance of life.

9.2 Evolution and Growth

Over countless generations, the Eldorians have developed a unique culture and way of life centered around their forest home.

9.3 Culture and Abilities

As the Eldorians grew in understanding of the forest and its magic, they developed abilities unique to their race. They learned to communicate with the creatures of the forest, to shape wood with their bare hands, and to infuse their crafts with enchantments.

9.4 Challenges and Triumphs

Throughout their history, the Eldorians have faced many challenges, from encroaching darkness to conflicts with other races. But through their connection to nature and their strong sense of community, they have always persevered.

9.5 Creation Myths and Ancestral Bonds

Eldorian creation myths speak of the great forest spirits creating the first Eldorians from the seeds of the mighty ironbark trees. These ancestral spirits are believed to still watch over and guide the Eldorian people.

9.6 The Age of Enlightenment

As the people of Landorya began to recover from the conflicts and upheavals of the past, a new spirit of inquiry and curiosity emerged. Scholars, philosophers, and scientists sought to unravel the mysteries of the world and the nature of existence itself. The Eldorians contributed to this era through their institutions and guilds, and the sharing of knowledge and ideas across racial and cultural boundaries led to a new era of cooperation and understanding, as the people of Landorya began to see themselves as part of a larger, interconnected world.

9.7 The Founding of Oakenhall

According to historical records preserved in the enchanted crystal archives, Oakenhall was founded approximately 2,400 years ago by Oren Woodweaver and his followers. The first structure was a single great ironbark tree that Oren coaxed into an enormous arching hall
a feat that took forty years of patient druidic craft. From this seed, the city grew outward in concentric rings, each generation of woodweavers adding new layers to the living architecture. The naming ceremony was presided over by the druid Elara Greensong herself, who planted a golden acorn at the city's heart that is said to still pulse with magical energy beneath the floor of the Great Hall.
