For everyday Drakonian mortals, the Ember-Morning practice opens each day: a brief fire-lighting ceremony in which the household hearth is fed from a preserved brand of volcanic basalt, connecting daily domestic life to the mantle's ongoing heat. Shard-Guild artisans begin work with a Rune-Check, verifying their tools' inscriptions before any forging session. Elder dragons maintain a private practice of Sigil-Meditation — pressing their forehead sigil against cool volcanic stone and observing the heat-transfer patterns to monitor the consistency of their magical output, a form of self-diagnostic embedded in draconic tradition since before the Dark Times.
