Ecosystem & Environment

The Dragon Empire of Aurixia occupies some of the most geologically active terrain in all of Landorya, a landscape shaped by fire in every expression of that word. The heartland runs along the Drakon Range, where volcanic peaks breathe smoke in perpetual communion with the mantle. Lava flows, managed by Magma Drakes using earth-shaping precision, carve channels through basaltic plateaus that serve simultaneously as natural fortifications and thermal arteries feeding the empire's Magma-Core reactors.

The Ashen Plains to the west present a contrasting ecosystem: cooling lava fields, petrified ash dunes, and silver-threaded mineral deposits that the empire harvests for runic materials. Ash Wyrms have shaped this landscape over millennia, their breath sculpting ash formations into monumental contours that serve as territorial markers and repositories of aural memory.

The Flame-Crest Highlands tower above both regions, their peaks perpetually wreathed in electrical storms generated by Storm Wyrm colonies. These highland storms are not merely atmospheric phenomena; they are semi-deliberate, the dragons amplifying natural electrical discharge to power a network of lightning-rod relays that supplement the Drake-Runes communication system during periods of volcanic interference.

The deep volcanic chambers beneath the Drakon Range form the third major ecological zone, inhabited by Magma Drakes who channel lava flows with geological precision. These caverns house the Magma-Cores, geothermal reactors stabilized by dragon-fire runes, drawing heat directly from the mantle to power cities, forges, and imperial infrastructure without depleting surface resources. The Ministry of Arcane Ecology monitors all three zones for signs of mantle instability.
