Economy & Craft

The Aurixian economy is organized around fire-forging and its derivatives: the production of rune-etched weapons, scaled armor, crystal-encoded Archive materials, Magma-Core components, and Aether-Drake Airship systems. These products command premium prices across Landorya, and Shard-Guild trade caravans — escorted by Drake-Rider pairs — operate regular routes to Dwarven Forge-Clan markets, Nereidum coastal ports, and the neutral trading grounds near the Ashen Glades border.

The empire's primary currency is the Scale-Mark, a heat-pressed alloy coin whose authenticity is verified by a micro-etched Drake-Rune readable only under a jeweler's crystal lens. Counterfeiting is nearly impossible without access to dragonfire of precise calibration, making Scale-Mark forgery one of the rarest crimes in the empire. The Shard-Guilds maintain a secondary internal credit system based on rune-etched clay tablets, used primarily for intra-guild accounting and apprenticeship wage tracking.

Key industries include Runic Infusion smithing — the most prestigious and highest-compensated craft — along with Magma-Core maintenance engineering, Drake-Runic crystal tower construction and calibration, fire-glass production from volcanic beaches, and the production of obsidian-reinforced steel hulls for Aether-Drake Airship manufacture. The empire imports seafood and deep-sea stabilizing compounds from Nereidum, rare earth minerals and processed stone from Dwarven partners, and luxury forest goods from occasional Fey Court exchanges during periods of diplomatic calm. Terrax the Architect oversees the empire's largest infrastructure contracts, ensuring that Magma-Core installations and crystal tower networks are constructed to the Balance Codex's precise thermal specifications.
