This role is not merely symbolic; the Magma Drakes' management of lava flows and the Magma-Core reactors literally stabilize the mantle pressure that underlies the continent's geological stability.

The Order of the Scaled Guardians serves as the empire's primary instrument of external and internal enforcement. Its members — drawn from veteran Elders and elite Drake-Riders — patrol borders, monitor known Shadow Drake locations, enforce the Balance Codex, and serve as the empire's rapid-response force when the Ash-Siphon threshold is threatened anywhere in the realm. Beyond the empire's borders, Scaled Guardian patrols extend into shared territories with the Dwarven Forge-Clans and the contested Ashen Glades, serving as a deterrent against incursion by any outside force.

Aurixia's official diplomatic posture is one of sovereign distance — it does not seek expansion by conquest but will respond with overwhelming force to any threat to its core territories or to the mantle it considers its sacred charge.
