TimeActivity
MorningRite of the First Flame - a brief meditation before the sunrise, breathing in the ambient heat, followed by a communal breakfast of flame-roasted meat and ash-bread.

11.2 Typical Daily Routine (Dragon)

A dragon's day follows a slower, grander rhythm:

  • Dawn - The dragon rises from its volcanic sleeping chamber, stretches its wings in the morning thermals, and performs a solitary meditation upon a high crag, attuning to the ley-lines that run beneath the mountains.
  • Morning - Council duties (for Elders), mentorship of younger dragons or bonded riders, or patrol flights over the dragon's province.
  • Midday - Feeding, typically on large game hunted from the air or specially bred volcanic cattle raised by Drakonian herders.
  • Afternoon - Creative or scholarly pursuits: contributing memories to the Crystal Archive, crafting rune-inscriptions, or practicing breath-weapon techniques.
  • Evening - Social gathering with other dragons at a Scale-Circle, an open-air assembly where news, stories, and philosophical debates are shared.
  • Night - Dream-Weaving: the deep meditative trance during which dragons process memories, commune with the Crystal Archive, and sometimes receive prophetic visions.

11.3 Seasonal Differences

  • Spring (Bloom of Ember) - New dragon-eggs hatch; festivals celebrate renewal, and the Rite of Renewal is performed to channel fresh magma into the land.
  • Summer (Flame of War) - Military drills intensify; the Forge Festival showcases new weapons.
  • Autumn (Ash-Harvest) - Ash-fields are harvested for fertilizer; the Harvest of the Scales market opens.
  • Winter (Cold-Heart) - Focus shifts to scholarship, rune-craft, and the Ice-Fire Exchange with Frostborn allies.

11.4 Festivals & Celebrations

  • Hatching Rite - a nation-wide ceremony when a dragon-egg cracks, accompanied by fireworks of pure dragon-fire.
  • Forge Festival - a week-long showcase of master-crafted weapons, armor, and runic inventions.
  • Festival of Ember & Tide - joint celebration with Nereidum, featuring synchronized fire-dance and water-song performances.
  • Sylvan-Flame Accord Day - commemorates the peace treaty with the Fey, marked by a grand banquet under the Ash-Glade Canopy.
  • Night of Ancient Memory - a winter solstice observance in which all Elder Dragons simultaneously project their oldest memories into the Crystal Archive. Drakonians gather in great halls to watch the crystal-projected visions on the walls, experiencing the creation of the world through draconic eyes.
  • The Ignatharian Games - a triennial athletic and magical competition held in Thassarion's Seat. Events include Drake-Riding races, fire-shaping contests, runic duels, and the legendary Magma Run (a footrace across a freshly cooled lava field). Named in honor of Ignathar the First.
